Who May Qualify?

To be considered for assistance, an individual must meet our standard eligibility requirements — including living or working in Lane County, Oregon, demonstrating financial need, and needing reliable transportation to maintain employment, seek employment, attend school, participate in workforce development, or perform significant volunteer work.

Please review the full requirements on our eligibility page before making a referral.

What Information Is Needed?

To help us evaluate whether someone may qualify, please gather the same information requested on our application, including:

  • Basic personal and contact information
  • Vehicle year, make, and model
  • A description of the repair needed
  • How the vehicle is used (employment, job search, school, volunteering)
  • Details about the individual's situation and financial need

The individual themselves will ultimately need to complete our official application.

How Does the Process Work?

The simplest and most reliable way to refer someone is to share our application directly with them and encourage them to apply online. The individual completes the application themselves, providing their own information and documentation. All assistance is provided through our standard application and eligibility process.

To share our application with an individual you are working with, please direct them to our Apply for Assistance page.

Does a Referral Guarantee Assistance?

No. A referral does not guarantee approval or funding. Meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee assistance. Applications are reviewed based on demonstrated need, repair necessity, available funding, and approval. Drive Forward Lane County is currently in its fundraising phase — applications are accepted, but applicants should not expect a response until sufficient funding has been secured.
